I find books that contain bigoted (whether intentionally so or because they’re outdated) and I turn them into art page by page. In this way, I can disarm them and take something meant to harm me and turn it into something beautiful.

This book waxed poetic on the dangers of a child having no father figure in their lives, on how the LA Race Riots were a result of emotional immaturity, and how obesity was a result of failure to progress emotionally. As well as many far-reaching claims about the origins of cultural deities (conflated Kali (Hindi) with Kelles (Irish)) that were a product of their time. And that time is over.
