“The Sweeney Tarot is a tool with a diverse cast of characters. People of different races, genders, sexes, and sexualities just name a few. But what makes it a great learning tool for people like me with poor memorization skills is that a basic meaning of the card is at the bottom, making readings quick and simple for people in a hurry to know their future.
In addition to being diverse, there are also recurring characters. By seeing these recurring characters in a spread, a person can make further interpretations regarding them. A presence of a character more than once in a spread can indicate a certain personality trait to watch out for. These are all characters that are featured in my stories, which I hope to one day publish.
Originally, this was going to be a deck just for me. But as I posted the works in progress on social media, a lot of people jumped at the chance to have one of their own.
I keep up to date notes on each of their cards and their meanings at thesweeneytarot.tumblr, which is free to use. Folks who have questions, comments, or experiences regarding the deck can voice them there and I personally invite anyone with a copy of the deck to join in on the discussion.
